Doom Metal isn’t my go to genre, but this album turned me right into the genre and made me see it in a new light.
19. Dayseeker - Sleeptalk
While not being entirely metal, it does have it’s moments and it’s kept me listening since i first heard it due to the tone and experimentation of the genres.
18. Enterprise Earth - Luciferous
Being a Metal/Deathcore kid this album just ticks all of the right boxes for myself. Brutal, fast and sickening vocals combined with the technical instrumentals make it the perfect Deathcore record.
17. Brymir - Wings Of Fire:
Huge Symphonic Death Metal that was made to be played for arenas. With big riffs and hooks there’s no shortage of anything from this album. It’s huge.
16. Danny Worsnop - Shades Of Blue
Not a metal album but I had to include it because of how much I love the music and lyrics. Small departure from his first solo effort being more blues, but it’s still a touching record.
15. Killswitch Engage - Atonement
The Metalcore kings hit hard with this absolute banger of an album with multiple guests. Including one Howard Jones.
14. As I Lay Dying - Shaped By Fire
After a 7 year gap between albums, a whole lot of controversy and a reawakening the Metalcore perfecters hit it on the head with this brilliant record.

13. Whitechapel - The Valley
Deathcore has never sounded more perfect or brutal on this triumphant effort

11. While She Sleeps - So What?
The Sheffield metallers bounce back from You Are We with even catchier chorus’ and heavier riffs.
10. Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes - End Of Suffering
A heart pouring record from the former Gallows frontman which is full of singalongs, riffs and emotional lyrics to make you cry and smile.
9. Lagerstein - 25/7
A pirate party album full of riffs and big chorus’ enough to leave you begging for more.

5. Lingua Ignota - Caligula
Again, not a metal album, but it’s atmospheric and is a change to my usual taste. Little diamond in the rough.

1. Der Weg Einer Freiheit - Live In Berlin
To make a bold statement, and to simply put it, the greatest live Black Metal album to be put out. Raw, energetic and on times you forget it’s even live. Astonishing.
