Metal To The Masses Catch Up Interview: Blind Divide (Interview By Matt Bladen)

Interview With 2019 Metal To The Masses Winners Blind Divide By Matt Bladen

MoM: How was playing Bloodstock for you?

Blind Divide: BOA 2019 was a hell of an experience for us, getting to be backstage and looked after by the stage crew all felt really surreal and we had a great reception from the audience. Seeing our name in tiny writing on the bottom of the 2019 T-Shirt gives me a semi every time!

MoM: What has happened with the band since then?

Blind Divide: We've had a bit of a tweak to our line-up, released our Nimis EP and decided we're finally going to work towards an album. We've been around and about, when restrictions have allowed, but the M2TM Grand Final will be the first time we've played in Cardiff in 3 years!

MoM: What did winning M2TM mean to you?

Blind Divide: It means we now miss out on playing a bunch of quality gigs every year, because we can't enter again! In all seriousness, it was incredible, M2TM coached us into being a better band, every time we played a heat, we had honest feedback on how we could improve our set, for it to all come to a head with us going to Bloodstock was immense.

MoM: How important is the local scene?

Blind Divide: Every band you love started on a local scene somewhere. Be the guy/girl that gets to say "I saw them when they started out" about the next big band. Support local bands, if you can, buy their merch or pick up a CD, stream their music if you can't.

MoM: Any advice for other bands entering?

Blind Divide: Promote your shows, turn up on time, make sure your kit works, support the other bands and ask for feedback from the M2TM team!
