MoM: Introduce yourselves/remind everyone who you guys are. Band name, members, style etc?
Incursion: We are Incursion! Goddesses of the Arts and proclaimers of Heroes! Heroes like Hercules! Honey you mean Hunkules, mmmm would I like to make some swee..
Our story begins long before Hercules, in a completely different space and time actually. We found a VHS machine during lockdown and passed the time with old films. Let me try again *ahem*
LONG AGO! In the deep and irradiated wastes that was once the South Wales Valleys there was a trio of passable musicians who through no fault of their own may have possibly ended the world as you would know it. That band is Incursion! Now it’s Earth year 2022 and the trio must do what they thought would never be done... write new music. Deep in their hidden lab-lair they create detuned post apocalyptic metal and take many need tea and biscuits breaks.
MoM: How have the last year(s) been for the band? What have you been up too?
Incursion: Terrible. We lost our pet bat, fuel prices went up, trying to power the interdimensional time gate on these rates? Ridiculous. On the plus side though we managed to t̶h̶r̶e̶a̶t̶e̶n̶ acquire a producer to help put our tales onto a physical recording to an “album” as this universe calls it. We recently got back out on the open road more into Engahland and even performed at the O2 Burnedinham which made a lot of new Incursionists and got our foot into the festival circuit!! Other than that Grunt shrunk a little bit due to a time shift.
MoM: What experience have you had with Bloodstock/M2TM in the past?
Incursion: Many. Mostly having an overwhelming amount of support from those who are seeing us for the first time or not the first time, it lights our irradiated little hearts to look out from stage and seeing the Incursionists singing a lot, wearing our plutonium bathed t-shirts or fighting over our left over pantry cupboard.
MoM: How are you feeling entering the M2TM format back as it should be? Playing in front of a crowd again?
Incursion: Usually with our hands. Yes a return to the usual format is sure fire the way to go after last year’s Top of the Britain’s got X Voice concept. The audience missed out on all the band performances last year and they are just as much the part of the shows as we are.
MoM: What would it mean to you to play Bloodstock?
Incursion: It would be amazing to bring our tales to a wider audience and eat more bunny chow.
MoM: Tell us two truths and one lie about the band?
