Bloodstock Metal To The Masses South Wales 2025: Interview With State Of Deceit (Swansea Heat #2)

Bloodstock Metal To The Masses South Wales 2025

1. Please introduce yourself for anyone who may not know you. Tell us a little bit more about you as a band.

We are State of Deceit, an all out metal band mixing metalcore, thrash and groove predominantly. We were formed in the death of 2018, but this is our first year with Dean at the drum throne, who joined us late last year! We thrive on high energy riffage mixed with catch choruses, so it has something for everyone. We put out our debut album, Stalked. By Daemons in October 2023 and have close to 150k streams.

2. What made you want to participate in the Metal To The Masses South Wales 2025 campaign? Have you had previous experience? Or is this your first time?

We’ve competed in Metal to the masses previously and have always had a great time we get to make new friends and play with some properly sick bands. Our favourite memory from metal to the masses was getting to the final in 2022.

3. M2TM is all about supporting your local scene. How important is the local scene to you as a band?

Metal to the masses provides the pivotal role for bands coming through the scene. It provides a platform to play to new people, and gives us opportunity to play with new bands. This is always a great opportunity because there are so many good bands in our local scene, and metal to the masses there’s a lot to promote and grow this.

4. What are your expectations from being a part of M2TM?

Metal To The Masses Is all about playing the best venues in South Wales with the best bands. It’s an opportunity to challenge ourselves to be better as performers and as musicians. The competition in general raises the standard of local acts and helps the scene by allowing bands play more gigs.

This year our heat in Metal to the masses will be our first with Dean our new drummer as well as the first chance to test out a new digital rig, and honestly we can’t wait to get cracking!

5. What would playing a Sold Out Bloodstock Festival mean to you?

To be Cliche, it’s the dream isn’t it? To play sold out shows wherever you go, that’s the dream for any musician.

6. We encourage all the bands in M2TM to try and check out the other bands, who are you most looking forward to? Who should your fans also try to catch?

We’ve definitely had a look through and, as always, there’s some really great bands playing this year. In particular we discovered Struggler through the lineup and like them so much we’ve got them with us for one of our self promoted gigs in Haverfordwest.
